Children dodged and darted among Carousel Amusement Park rides and Storyland fairy- tale sets while Bag of Donuts rock ‘n’ roll band kept their parents entertained on a beautiful, fun-filled night.

City Park’s amusement park was filled to capacity with almost 4,000 tickets taken at the gate. Nearly perfect spring weather Saturday night helped make this year’s Hickory Dickory Rock the organization’s most successful fundraising event yet, grossing $53,000 to support Family Service’s counseling services.

Board member Alex Gershanik’s children were thrilled by the overall experience.

“Besides the fantastic rides, they understood that Hickory Dickory Rock was a great benefit that helped the whole community, he said.

“One of the reasons to be a board member is to be part of an event like Hickory Dickory Rock,” said board member Blake Jones. “It was great to see the kids’ faces as they went on the rides.”
