It can happen in a school, in a community center, one on one, family to family, in a neighborhood business and inside our homes. Some people need a lot, some just a little. The spirits of generosity and gratitude always find each other. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Family Service. We are continually renewed by the capacity people have for helping others. We are equally impressed by the depth of gratitude the at-risk population shows in return and by the ways they find to give back to their community. There are many opportunities for you to help Family Service build a community of people who care. Donations are the lifeblood of Family Service. Translated into services and support, the funds we raise help people live with integrity, independence and a strong sense of belonging. You can help with your tax-deductible donation, which can come in many forms. Cash is the most common way of giving, because it’s so simple. If you itemize, a gift of cash can be deducted for up to 50% of your adjusted gross income. Of course, it’s a good idea to check with your tax adviser.
