| about us > programs | history | locations | board of directors | center for work & family | resourcesThe Center for Work & FamilyEmployees today face great challenges in balancing their professional and personal lives. This tenuous balance can easily be disrupted when personal concerns or crises arise, such as caring for an elderly relative, managing an out-of-control child or struggling with the financial strain of a divorce.
At times, these challenges may overwhelm an employee, infringing upon his or her ability to perform well at work. As a result, the employee loses peace of mind, while the employer loses productivity. This is when the Center for Work & Family can make a difference.
This program provides assessment, counseling and referrals for employees and their families who may need help getting through difficult times. It's a "win" for employees, because they get free professional counseling. And it's a "win" for employers, because they are able to provide their employees with a pathway for overcoming the challenges that are hurting them, both personally and professionally.
The Center for Work & Family provides the following services:
Employee Assistance Program - The Employee Assistance Program includes counseling and referral services for a wide range of problems, including marital difficulties, depression and alcohol, drug or gambling addictions.
Post-Trauma Stress Counseling - The Center provides counseling to individuals that have experienced a traumatic event, such as rape, a natural disaster or an industrial accident.
Employee Training/Education - The Center offers courses in effectively managing stress, balancing work and family, interacting with difficult people and being more effectively assertive.
Management Training/Education - The Center provides support for issues such as job changes, downsizing and progressive discipline.
Other Services - The Center also offers mental health and substance abuse assessments, as well as managed care.
