Case Study:
For a year after my father died, I stopped talking. I did not know what to say. I felt so awful inside. If I really needed something, I sent a text message.
Mom felt really bad because she didn’t know what to do to help.
Finally, we went to Family Service. A counselor there suggested Mom meet with a therapist first. She recommended our family could celebrate my father’s birthday together.
Once I started meeting with the therapist, my grief went away. I learned it was okay to be sad and to talk about it. I decided to visit my dad’s gravesite and to keep his memory alive.
